Directions:
Split your class into two teams of leprechauns.
Leprechauns must steal one coin at a time from the opposite team.
Both teams must protect their coins by tagging anyone who crosses the line.
If tagged, they must become a “Lost Leprechaun” & go to “The Land of the Lost Leprechauns”.
Their teammates can throw a ball to them and if caught, they can return to their side & continue.
A round ends when a team has all of 1 set, 2 sets, 3 sets, or teacher says (timed).
The winner is the team with the most coins all together!
For K & 1st Grade I do a relay race to steal the coins instead of the "capture" activity.
Find the Gold - Scavenger Hunt!

Pair each of your students up with a partner.
One partner hides a gold coin on the playground while the other one covers their eyes.
Once all the students are finished hiding. We say "1,2,3, what lucky leprechauns are we!"
Now the students who covered their eyes go to find the coin while their partner tells them if they're getting hotter or colder.
Once they've found the coin, they come back to the starting area and switch roles at their own pace!
You can buy gold coins very cheap at Walmart or the dollar store!
(Don't get the chocolate ones, they'll melt!) :P
