Physical Education Teacher - Monthly Reset Routine

This is the PE teacher routine that just makes sense!

You might be thinking... "What's a monthly reset?"

Well here’s a few things I do to set myself up for a great month!

CLASS CAPTAINS

1. Erase the previous months class captain names from the wall & let it dry.

2. While it's drying, I print & write out all of the new Class Captain Awards

3. Now it's time to write all the new class captain names on the wall. Did you know you can write directly on your panel mats with chalk marker?! It comes right off with some water and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser! Finding this out is a total game-changer! My kids LOVE seeing their names on the wall all month!

WARM UP

1. At the beginning of the year, I print & laminate all of the exercise posters so they're easy to swap out!

2. I grab 4 new exercises each week and slide them into the clear pocket folders i've hung on my wall with command strips. Having the visual of each exercise has my students eager to enter the gym on Monday and see what the new exercises are for the week!

CLASS INCENTIVE

1. I check to see if I need to refill the pompom bucket so there's enough for the weeks to come.

2. I see which buckets are close to being full and make sure I use this to motivate my classes to earn their 3 pom poms per class. Once their bucket is filled, they earn a "Free PE Day", where they get to chose the activity for the entire class period! PE WORD WALL

1. I go to openphysed.org and search the unit i'm teaching. I click on the "Academic Language Cards" tab and print the vocabulary words I want my students to learn that line up with the lessons of the month.
